The Quarantine Series
In early March, 2020, everything changed. My life had already been rocked a bit, but the pandemic caused by COVID-19 or the “coronavirus,” literally changed life for everyone. Because things have shifted so drastically, “normal” life looks completely different and memories of times spent outside are becoming more distant. I, just as everyone else should, have been adhering to the stay-at-home order, meaning I’ve been staying at home and limiting my time spent with others. Obviously, this means I can’t go out and shoot like I normally would…or do anything, really.
Truth is, things are scary and times are uncertain, but finding console in creating art has been a saving grace for me. I created “The Quarantine Series” to illustrate every place I’d rather be than cooped up inside my apartment with a moody and quite talkative cat. Inspiration for these pieces were drawn from photographs of beautiful Black people doing what they do best - existing, in the best possible way. Enjoy.
Prints for these pieces may become available upon request. For inquiries, please email closetartistry@gmail.com.
